Electrotex Sensors
Custom Industries - Exclusive North American Distributor
of Electrotex Sensors and Detectors

Custom Industries is the North American Distributor of Electrotex Fiber Monitoring products. Electrotex offers a wide range of sensors for applications in each step of the Fiber production process, be it natural or man made fibers. The standard line of sensors range from simple yarn break sensors to our Microprocessor based texture monitoring sensors and tension monitoring sensors. Electrotex also makes sensors that are compatible with Dent and other brands of competing sensors. These sensors have the same foot print and electrical specifications as the sensors being replaced. With Electrotex's wide selection of sensors, they can also replace obsolete sensors or poor performing sensors with new improved technology.
Product Line Overview:
Yarn Break Sensors:
Electrotex offers a wide range of case styles and sizes of sensors to meet different needs. All Electrotex sensors are housed in a metal Alloy housing and the Electronics are encapsulated in epoxy to hold up in the sometimes harsh environment of the textile plant. They also offer two types of sensing systems, Capacitive and Optical. The capacitive sensor works by having the fiber rub across the sensor's ceramic guide, in which the charge from the fiber creates a change in the capacitive field. These sensors work well in most applications.
The optical sensor has three types of operations; first the fiber is guided between two photo eyes in a through beam type sensor. The fiber crosses in and out of the through beam in a transversing motion, and the reflective type sensor. The yarn is seen from the beam reflecting off the fiber. The reflective type sensor also offers an additional output options, which are unavailable on other styles of sensors. These signals are 'fiber in motion' and 'fiber position' or 'missing fiber'.
The Filtex Line of Sensors:
The Filtex is a programmable microprocessor based sensor, designed to be used either stand-alone or networked. Advantages of the Filtex is that a Fiber monitor can be added to existing machines without the added cost and installation requirements of other similar types of sensors. The Filtex can be programmed to stop the machine when user set parameters are not met.
Examples:
Textured yarns, short, short, thin, or thick places below a set value can be set os passable, but when longer or missing texture will send a stop signal. On Chenille, the sensor can be programmed to watch for a change in pattern or missing nodes. Cabling/Twisting: Can detect missing end from the cable or twist.
The Tensotex Line of Tension Sensors:
These tension sensors come in multiple case styles and tension ranges. The are available in two versions, Analog output units and Microprocessor based units. The microprocessor based units are function compatible with Temco and BTSR
